Are you confused whether you should homeschool your kid or send him or her to the local public School this fall? Well, the answer to this question depends on parent’s commitment to educate their child, affordability, and what option they find the best.

Pros of preschool

  • Preschool makes your child ready to face the actual world. When they go to preschool on daily basis, they meet different other kids, and teacher. They get to work in teams of their peers. They interact with other kids and negotiate their matters without any supervision of parents. This is how preschoolers learn social skills which are essential to deal with the world as adults.
  • Traditional Preschool offer children lots of extra-curricular activities, such as sports, band and clubs. They get to benefit from art and music classes as well.
  • Traditional Preschool offer education free of cost. Each child is assured to have an appropriate and free education. Thus, sending your child to preschool can be financially beneficial to your family. Both parents can choose to work full time. With two incomes, you will be able to provide more opportunities to your kid that a homeschool learner might never have.
  • When it comes to conveyance, preschools are all over and easy to reach with available transportation services. All you need to do is make your child ready and reach bus stop on time.

Cons of preschool

  • Once a child gets admission to preschool, everyone’s schedule become automatically dedicated to that school’s timing. In case you plan to go out for a vacation, you have to think twice as you don’t want to ruin the normal schedule of school.
  • Preschool has its own limitations. Like, they are geared towards learning of the average students. This means those students who are on the other end of scale gets neglected. While those who are struggling continue to be left behind and further behind, there are some gifted kids who get bored.
  • In a class room, a teacher put focus on at least 20 students. Your child is not the only one who gets help when they need it.

Pros of Homeschooling

  • The best thing about Homeschooling is that children will get individualized education just like the parents want them to. Who knows better than parents where their child lacks and what their strengths are. This is why they truly work to boost their strengths and help them with their weaknesses.
  • Another benefit is that Homeschooling allows parents to spend quality time with their child.

Cons of Homeschooling

  • Unfortunately, homeschooling doesn’t come free. Instead, you need to spend money on buying supplies. Annually, on average, it may cost you around $500.
  • Another drawback is that your kid won’t be able to socialize with other kids. He or she might not get the same socialization level which could weaken them.

In conclusion, it must be said that different children respond differently to homeschooling and traditional preschool, so parents have to make an informed decision about what is best for their child.
