Artificial intelligence is often portrayed in movies as being smarter than human beings. Generally, this is not true. Many scientists consider the smartest artificial intelligence to be as smart as an average two-year-old child. This might not seem the case when you interact with artificial intelligence platforms like an Internet search engine or a mobile phone application. This is because these applications have been heavily fined tuned and tweaked to do a specific task. They have complex algorithms running in the background to ensure that they are able to perform their intended tasks as accurately as possible. Statistics play a big role in how smart an artificial intelligence software can be. So the more amount of data available to a software, the more accurate the decisions it can make. This means that artificial intelligence will grow smarter and smarter over time, especially since engineers and mathematicians are getting better at designing good algorithms that simulate thinking.
